Conkers B Nicholas, King of Wahberries!
2003 – 2010
I’ve tried to write this a ridiculous number of times now but I just can’t figure out how to say what I want to say. So I guess I will say that I am incredibly grateful that this beautiful little soul came into my life. He was my friend through some of the hardest experiences I’ve ever had to go through, my silent sidekick that never passed judgment or even reacted to what was happening in my life – he just listened. He brought me peace with his presence and made me laugh when I felt like I had forgotten how. Sometimes that’s what you need the most really, someone to just listen and quietly remind you of the fine things in life…you know, love, laughter, wahberries…that type of thing.

In the end, there are only a few individuals in your life that stick it through and become your truest friends. It may seem weird that one of mine was a rabbit, but hear me out. Animals have a way of speaking without saying a word, you can feel their energy radiate in everything they do, as long as you are open to it. They do not repress themselves as humans tend to do. They do not judge, they are not jealous or motivated by external intentions, they are not covert or seeking only to benefit themselves. They simply are. For me, that kind of friendship is a breath of fresh air in a world where hardly anyone is true towards others or even themselves really.

What a journey we had Conk. I wish so badly that we could continue our lives together on the west coast, but it wasn’t meant to be and you didn’t deserve to suffer anymore. Like almost everything that existed in my life 3 years ago when I first brought you to school with me…. you have died and moved on. That chapter in my life has clearly come to a close, and you were the last page. So cheers to a wonderful life and a beautiful soul – my sidekick, friend, child and therapy….you’ve finally conkered the world.

A life well spent. Love you little Conky
